Dr. Michael Gartner, DO, FACS, has been named to Newsweek’s America’s Best Plastic Surgeons 2026 list, earning recognition in the Breast Augmentation specialty. The honor comes just months after Dr. Gartner was named a 2026 Castle Connolly Top Doctor, placing him among the top 7% of physicians in the country.
Newsweek’s ranking, produced with the research firm Statista, isn’t based on a popularity contest or paid placement. It comes from a survey of more than 10,000 medical professionals, including practicing plastic surgeons and clinic staff, who were asked to evaluate their peers on outcomes, patient care, and consultation quality. Board certification with the American Board of Plastic Surgery also factors into the score. The full list goes live on Newsweek.com on August 4, 2026, and honorees will appear in the print edition the following month.
For Dr. Gartner, the recognition lands squarely in an area he’s built his reputation on. His approach to awake breast augmentation has become one of the more requested procedures at his Paramus practice, drawing patients from across New Jersey and the New York metro area who want the results of surgery without the downtime and risks that come with general anesthesia.
“Being named by your peers is different from a five-star review,” Dr. Gartner said. “This is surgeons and clinicians who understand the work looking at outcomes and saying it holds up. That means a lot.”
Patients weighing their options for breast augmentation in New Jersey can schedule a consultation directly with Dr. Gartner’s team to discuss goals, technique, and what recovery actually looks like.
