- Treats the typical indications of aging that occur when the space between the nostrils and the upper lip loses volume and becomes longer than it once was before.
- Exposes more of the red of the top lip (the vermillion), providing your lips with a more natural and overall fuller look.
- Enhancing the look of your smile.
- Correcting any imbalance in the top lip to provide harmony and proportion to your smile and face.

Why People Get Lip Lift
The natural causes that contribute to the aging of skin cause the skin and facial features, just like the rest of the body, to lose their suppleness and volume as the years go by. The look of face aging can also affect how the lips look. Therefore, a lip lift is a technique that is becoming more popular to diminish indications of aging and to boost the appearance of lips that are fuller in form much like lip fillers, without the repeat injections. If your top teeth are constantly buried under a lengthy upper lip, you may also do this to enhance dental show by shortening your upper lip.
How Lip Lift Works
A lip lift is a cosmetic procedure that helps diminish signs of aging and enhance the appearance of the lips by improving their shape and fullness. It is a popular alternative to lip fillers, as it provides long-lasting results without requiring repeat injections. The procedure is especially useful for individuals with a long upper lip that constantly hides their upper teeth, as it can help improve dental show by shortening the upper lip.
A surgical lip lift is an excellent procedure for producing a more symmetrical appearance to the face by reducing the amount of space that exists between the nose and the upper lip. The surgical lip lift procedure involves removing some of the skin that is located between the patient’s upper lip and nose to make the space between the two features appear smaller. At the same time, the patient’s upper lip is pulled upward in order to make the pink portion of the lip, also known as the vermillion, more visible. This results in the patient’s upper lip appearing fuller, more pronounced, and more natural.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR LIP LIFT IN NEW JERSEY
Following the completion of your appointment, Dr. Gartner will provide you with instructions on how to be ready for your procedure. Approximately two weeks before your treatment, you will be instructed to cease using any blood-thinning medications, including aspirin.
If you are a smoker, you will be required to abstain from cigarettes for two months before your procedure and for the same amount of time after your surgery. Smoking slows the healing process, which may impair your recuperation as well as the outcome, and it can also hurt the anesthetic you get.
In the six hours leading up to your procedure, you won’t be allowed to eat or drink anything, and you’ll need to abstain from alcohol for the whole two days before your procedure.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR LIP LIFT IN NJ
After your lip lift in New Jersey, you will be required to take a week off of work and refrain from engaging in any intense activities, such as high-impact exercises, as well as avoiding anything that might place pressure on your upper lip, such as leaning over forwards, for example.
The swelling that will occur in the first few days following your treatment will be mostly responsible for the fact that your upper lip will seem to be quite a bit larger than usual. You may also get a stiff feeling in your upper lip, but you will be able to continue eating, drinking, and chewing normally.
After a surgical lip lift, you may find that smiling and speaking come out feeling a bit uncomfortable to start, but you should not experience any discomfort, and any bruising that does occur should be mild at most.
You will need to make sure that you do not sleep on your face or exert any pressure on the affected region in any way. In addition to that, you should be very careful while you are cleaning your teeth.
After your treatment, you will have a follow-up visit around 5-7 days later, at which time your sutures will be removed. After that, you will be allowed to go back to work and resume all of your other normal activities.
WILL THERE BE A SCAR ON MY LIPS AFTER THE LIP LIFT?
When it comes to ensuring that scarring from any surgical treatment is kept to a minimum and is essentially unnoticeable, Dr. Gartner will employ a unique method to avoid any severe scarring. The surgical lip lift leaves very little scarring, and the scars that are left are quite minor. Any scars will be concealed between the wrinkles between the nostrils and the face, or occasionally even within the nostrils themselves. This will depend on the severity of the treatment
Makeup will work well for you during the first few weeks after surgery to hide any scars that may have resulted from the procedure. Dr. Gartner will also give you instructions on how to take the best possible care of your scar, and with time, any scars should shrink to the point where they are hardly noticeable or disappear entirely.
ARE THERE ANY RISKS AND COMPLICATIONS OF SURGICAL LIP LIFT PROCEDURE?
As is the case with any surgical procedure, the surgical lip lift has the potential — if remote — risk of problems and dangers, such as incomplete wound healing, scarring, injury to nerves or blood vessels, loss of blood, and allergic responses to the anesthetic. That said, Dr. Gartner will go through your past medical history to avoid any risks as well as inform you on how to care for your results after the procedure is done.
WHAT IS THE AVERAGE PRICE OF A SURGICAL LIP LIFT?
The difficulty of the procedure will determine how much you will have to pay for a surgical lip lift. When you come in for your consultation, we will talk about your objectives, go through what work needs to be done, and then provide you with an accurate price estimate.
HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST FROM A LIP LIFT?
A lip lift achieved via surgical means is permanent and has to be done just once. That said, skin aging is still possible and we recommend utilizing skin care treatments or minor treatments to enhance the results in the years to come.
