Multiple procedures: All at once or one at a time?

When we have made the decision to undergo cosmetic surgery, we might have a certain preconceived mindset about what kind of procedure we will need. However, after speaking with Dr. Gartner, you might come to realize that in order to produce your desired results, you will need more than one type of procedure. Not all cosmetic goals can be met with a single procedure. For instance, if you wish to lose excess fat in your stomach area, you might require both liposuction and a tummy tuck. If you wish to get rid of cellulite without surgery, that may require repeated sessions. Before going to meet with Dr. Gartner, here is the difference between our grouped procedures, and repeated treatments. With this information, you might be able to better understand the process.

GROUPED PROCEDURES

Some of our treatment plans feature multiple kinds of procedures. Take for instance our tummy tuck treatment. Our tummy tuck program includes both liposuction and the surgical removal of fat and skin. The two work wonderfully together when not all of the fat can be removed by one procedure alone.

Some treatments include more than two types of procedures. This is likely in order to reach more than one area of your body. A perfect example would be the body lift. The body lift treatment might feature skin removal, liposuction, abdominal muscle tightening, non-surgical cellulite treatment, and non-surgical skin tightening. This procedure is meant to remove any excess skin after considerable weight loss.

REPEATED TREATMENTS

Most of the treatments mentioned are capable of being made in a short period of time. However, there are times where it is ideal for the patient to come back for repeated sessions. Generally, the smaller the adjustment, the fewer procedures are needed. If you are simply looking to erase a pesky blemish, then mole/lipoma removal can be accomplished in one day. Other, more complex treatment plans are meant for complex conditions.

As mentioned earlier, it is possible to get rid of cellulite without surgery. But if that’s the case, then that means in order to get rid of cellulite, you will have to go in for a series of sessions. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. It just means that it is healthier for the procedure to be taken gradually than blasting it out in one session. Another example would be if one of our female patients goes in for a tummy tuck, and a year later has a baby. They will likely have to come back for a second treatment since a tummy tuck is not a permanent solution.

DECIDING TREATMENT PLANS

So now the question is: Should I get one of these grouped procedures, or should I simply get one procedure at a time? That entirely depends on the current state of your body. Now that you have learned a bit about our treatment options, you can go ahead and talk with Dr. Gartner. He will be able to tell you whether or not your body is fit for one procedure or multiple ones. For more information on our services, be sure to contact Dr. Gartner.
