Stephanie is a mother of three children who was unhappy with her appearance following breastfeeding all three of her children. Stephanie got plastic surgery to improve her appearance, which positively affected her self-esteem and confidence. This is her story.
After breastfeeding three children, each for a year and a half, Stephanie realized that her pregnancies had taken a toll on her body. She started to work out daily as a result. The exercise did improve her appearance—everywhere except her breasts. Stephanie's breasts were no longer as large or perky as they once were before pregnancy. Once a 34D, she shrunk down to a saggy 34B.
A change in breast shape and size is a common concern for mothers, particularly following multiple pregnancies. The breasts enlarge with milk production, but deflate once breastfeeding stops, leaving the breasts stretched out and saggy. This doesn't happen to everyone, but it is more of the norm than an exception. Unfortunately, exercise or dieting won't help significantly with this problem.
"I had so much saggy skin, I looked older than I was."
The appearance of her breasts left Stephanie feeling less confident. She was unhappy with her appearance, so much so that even her husband noticed.
"My husband noticed a major decrease in my confidence. After many months of hearing about how saggy my breasts looked, he decided to give me the best birthday present a girl could ask for. He knew that I wanted some work done so he wrote me a check and told me I could do whatever I wanted to do with it. That's when I called my friend who had work done by Dr. Gartner. I viewed videos of him on Youtube and I had a consult within that very week. I knew I didn't need to look any further. Dr. Gartner was the man for the job. I felt very comfortable with him and his staff."
Stephanie decided to talk to Dr. Gartner about how she could improve her appearance. After an in-depth discussion of her aesthetic goals, Stephanie decided that she wanted a breast augmentation and lift.
A breast augmentation and lift increases the size of your breasts and reshapes them to make them fuller in the mid and upper portion. This gives the breasts a perkier appearance. Stephanie had silicone implants and an incision placed around the areolae to make "lift" her breasts.
Following her surgery, Stephanie stayed for a few hours in the recovery room at our state-of-the-art surgical facility in Paramus. She was then discharged to complete the rest of her recovery in the comfort of her own home.
"I was out of a commission for the first day. After that, I was able to get back on my toes somewhat and be a mom again. Luckily I had family around to help me, but the recovery was exactly what Dr. Gartner prepared me for."
Dr. Gartner always gives a complete set of pre and post surgery instructions to patients so they can properly prepare and recover. This makes the experience far smoother.
Once Stephanie had recovered, she found that her self-esteem improved because she felt so much better about her appearance.
"I feel like myself again—ok...maybe a little better! After putting my children first for years, my husband and I felt like I needed to do something for myself where I put myself first. And if it meant to have work done, so be it. I feel fantastic—I feel confident. I am very pleased with how they turned out. A little lift, a little implant...and a very happy momma!"
